About Lean Body Mass Calculator

Lean body mass (LBM) is the mass of the body without fat. That is, the mass of your muscles. Knowing this number is necessary for optimal calculation of the amount of protein in the diet. To find out your BMI, you must first know your body fat percentage. Measure the volume of the abdomen with a tape measure. For men, cover the belly at the level of the navel with a measuring tape, and for women above the navel. The following calculator gives you an estimate of your body fat percentage and no body fat based on your weight, height, age and simple measurements using a tape measure (i.e. Anthropometric measurements). Measurements of the skin folds alone tend to underestimate the percentage of body fat in obese and very thin (especially those with low hydration).

The online calculator gives the approximate percentage of fat / lean muscle mass by body circumference based on weight, height, age, and most importantly, simple anthropometric measurements of body circumference made with a simple tape measure. This method is inferior in accuracy to the method based on measuring the thickness of the fat folds, but, nevertheless, its error does not exceed a few percent for most people of normal physique. Body fat percentage and lean body mass are two things you need to know to achieve a high level of nutritional and training performance. Today there are a large number of formulas and devices with which these parameters are calculated.
